At the baths of the Roman citizens would relax by taking a bath or a shower. The baths were designed to help the Romans to maintain their health and fitness and it also helped to detoxify them. A major benefit of bathing was that it helped to strengthen the skin. This is why bathing became so popular and so necessary in the first place.
