This name generator produces fifteen random constellation names divided into three groups, the first five names being Latin and almost always connected to a species. Some of the names are either an animal's Latin name or a genus. The fourth and fifth names are often paired with an adjective, such as Minor or Borealis. Minor means little, Major means great, North means Borealis, South means Australis, West mean Western, East means Oriental. The sixth and seventh names refer to the Chinese constellations, and in particular to the four symbols (Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Vermilion Eagle, and Black Turtle). These are the form, location and scale of the constellations in the sky. They're all the color and animal names. The last three names are English and are based on names like the 'Big Dipper.' These names indicate the presence of the star, and its form (Big or Small), or its location in heaven (north , east, south, or west).
